In a field often dominated by flashy builds and mega-horsepower dyno monsters, Brian Shew stands out as a throwback to raw grit, determination, and working-class horsepower.
Since his breakout performance in 2021, Brian has quietly built one of the most respected résumés in the UCC arena — proving that consistency, effort, and resilience can hang with the best.
2021 marked Brian’s first big splash on the UCC stage. While his drag and dyno results were modest, he shocked everyone by taking second place in the sled pull, yanking an impressive 314.3 feet. It was the kind of gritty, underdog performance that made him an instant fan favorite.
By 2023, Brian had refined every aspect of his build. He improved his drag time to 6.128 seconds, posted 1,516 HP on the dyno, and once again took second in the sled pull with a massive 311.77-foot hook. His seventh-place overall finish proved he wasn’t just a pulling specialist — he was becoming a legitimate all-around threat.
In 2024, Brian once again delivered when it mattered most. Despite challenges on the drag strip, he laid down 1,676 HP on the dyno and clinched a top-three sled pull finish with a 312.06-foot effort — making it his third straight year landing among the top pullers.
Brian is the owner of Quality Diesel Performance, a respected diesel shop based in Columbia City, Indiana. With a background rooted in sled pulling, Brian originally entered the UCC to help grow his business and prove his capabilities against the best in the country.
What makes Brian’s journey even more impressive is how he’s balanced full-time shop life with building a UCC-level truck. What started as an 8,800-pound work stock machine has evolved into a competitive triple-threat truck capable of tackling drag, dyno, and pull events with confidence.
With help from his hardworking crew at Quality Diesel, friends who pitch in, and top-tier support from brands like Fleece Performance, Freedom Racing Engines, South Bend Clutch, and Yukon Gear & Axle, Brian continues to level up year after year.
Now, Brian Shew returns to the UCC battlefield in 2025 — more experienced, more determined, and more dialed-in than ever before.
His goal? To break through into the upper ranks with improved drag times, higher horsepower, and a fourth straight standout sled pull performance.
Backed by a dedicated crew, loyal sponsors, and a work ethic forged in diesel grit, Brian is aiming to make 2025 his best UCC showing yet.
