Ryan’s interest in diesel trucks manifested shortly after being able to buy his very first new vehicle
in 2007 at age 32. After working for himself for 2 years, it was time to get a truck better suited for hauling equipment for underground utility work. Like many others, wanting better “fuel mileage”, he started modifying the truck. This led to building great friendships with Josh Harris at Top Notch Garage in Van, Texas and Jim Jones at Texas Performance Diesel in Emory, Texas.
After going to a few diesel races with Josh in his old work truck, Josh was hooked and it was time for more in 2018. Consequently around the same time, Jim was looking to step back from racing at that time. The truck is a 2001 Silverado with the motor and heads built by SoCal. Air is supplied by a S500 Borg Warner over S400. Fuel is delivered by a single 12mm XP CP3. Transmission is a Suncoast 48RE. Special thanks to Don and April Morrison at Flux Diesel Injection (F1) for their superb product, service, and injectors for the truck. All tuning is done by Josh Harris.
Here is what Ryan had to say about competing in the UCC. “We wanted to attend the UCC for the simple fact to positively promote diesel motor sports and to be a part of such a great event. We are competitors and fans at the same time. Thanks and to Josh and his crew at Top Notch Garage for making this possible.”
