Jared Delekta has been on quite the diesel journey ever since Industrial Injection found him on the side of the road which is a true story. About six or so years ago, Jared was attending WyoTech in Laramie, WY for diesel technology and business management. One fateful day some folks from Industrial Injection were passing through town and had a breakdown on the side of the road. Jared offered his services to get the truck back up and running. They were so impressed with him that two weeks later they called him up with a job offer. He still had eight weeks of school left, so once he finished up school he made the move to Salt Lake City, Utah and joined the Industrial Injection team.
Delekta spends his days working on customer’s vehicles but once 5:00 P.M. rolls around, he gets to the real work which is getting ready for the UCC. He has been on the crew since day one of the UCC, but last year he made his debut as a driver. The truck is a 2001 Chevrolet 2,500 HD on the outside, but on the inside is an Industrial Injection Shredder Series deck plate 6.7L Cummins along with a Randy's Transmissions 48RE manual valve body transmission. Why the swap? It started as a joke on social media, but they quickly discovered that the key to getting faster than a 9 second ¼ mile was ditching the old Duramax engine. The Cummins power plant immediately boosted the truck into the high 8’s and the truck’s current high mark is a ¼ mile at 8.53 seconds, achieved at the NHRDA World Finals. Delekta also first drove the truck at an event for the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza in 2016 and from then on he took the truck all over. This is definitely a truck and driver to watch out for in 2019.
At our 2018 Ultimate Callout Challenge, Delekta placed 5th place overall with a score of 2254.17. He brought his A game to the drag racing portion of the competition placing 2nd with a pass of 8.076 seconds on the ¼ mile. He then placed 5th on the dyno maxing out his truck at 2,188.3 HP and 2,663.8 foot pounds of torque. In the sled pulling portion of the competition he made a hook of 246.75 feet placing him 16th. We can’t wait to see what changes and improvements Delekta and his Industrial Injection team have to offer at UCC 2019!
The truck is currently equipped with Industrial Injections own triple turbo kit, dual XP CP3s, and Cobra injectors. Other sponsors supporting Delekta and his truck include Suncoast Performance, Hardway Performance, Breakout Tuning, Nitrous Express, and FASS Fuel Systems. As with any project truck it’s hard to leave anything alone, but bigger and faster is the goal and that’s why they’re in the competition. It remains to be seen if Jared can take the top spot, but we certainly can’t wait to see what he and his team bring to the table at our 4th annual Ultimate Callout Challenge May 3rd-5th 2019.
