A 2018 Ultimate Callout Challenge local, from Newburgh, Indiana, is Rhett Whitaker and is 2004
Cummins-Powered Dodge Ram. Rhett got his start with a 7.3-liter Powerstroke but quickly
upgraded to his Ram. After joining the military in 2010, he was stationed near Suncoast
Transmissions. Knowing he was going to up the power on his Dodge, he installed a fully built
Suncoast 48re transmission, which now holds the power to his new upgrades. An S366
turbocharger, dual CP3 injection pumps, Smarty S06, AirDog Fuel System, head studs, valve
springs, pushrods, and an aftermarket camshaft. The truck sits at 750-horsepower and 1,449
lb/ft of torque and Rhett tells us, “It’s perfectly capable of playing and working.” Rhett is hopeful
that the UCC qualifier will boost him to the next level in the diesel performance industry and
looks to compete with the best in a truck that’s capable of towing.
