Wade Boyd is yet another talented rookie to join the 2018 Ultimate Callout Challenge class in hopes of knocking the veterans off the podium and taking his place among the diesel performance elite. While Boyd is a rookie in UCC competition he is no stranger to high performance diesels and has been competing with them since 2003. In those 14-years he has been racing and competing with Duramax trucks on the pull track, on the drag strip and on the dyno where he was the second person to push a Duramax into 4-digit power territory on a chassis dyno. He also set various records with his 2002 Duramax Crew Cab that was dubbed the Blue Angel in the early years of Duramax diesel performance and development. As the driver of the Dirtymax drag truck Boyd set the record for an Allison transmission truck at 9.49-seconds at 149 MPH in the 1/4-mile. He currently competes in the NHRDA Super Street class.

Boyd is the owner of Diesel Day Dreams in Northglenn, CO where they build their own competition engines, transmissions and turbo setups for customer trucks as well as their own race trucks. They also handle their own tuning for both engine and transmission performance which will help the DDD team to quickly get the truck dialed in to the particular track conditions on race day. Boyd is a very knowledgeable diesel technician and has helped develop many of the Duramax and Allison performance parts that are part of the GM diesel performance market today.

In addition to support from his shop Diesel Day Dreams and his hands-on DDD team/crew the truck will also be supported by sponsors and partners including Bill's Englewood Driveshaft, Dirty Hooker Diesel, Exergy Performance, FASS Fuel Systems, Granby Truck Shop, Harland Sharp, Heavy Duty Hotrods, Manton Pushrods, SoCal Diesel, SunCoast Performance, Trend Diesel Performance, Truck Kings, Vibrant Performance and Wagler Competition Products to squeeze all of the potential out of the 2001 Silverado and its Duramax/Allison combination in hope of ending the Cummins’ rein of supremacy at the UCC that has given the brand wins in each individual UCC competition as well as overall wins in each of the first two years. It looks as though at the very least the Duramax contingent and their loyal fans have added another potent competitor to cheer on in the UCC competition. We can hardly wait to see what the newest member of the 2018 rookie class brings to the competition table. On May 4th-6th 2018 when the teams rumble to life at the Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis we’ll get the first chance to see what Wade Boyd and his DDD team from Colorado can do on the national Ultimate Callout Challenge stage where all the competition is taken to the next level and beyond!
